THE SCOOP | TSO Hires New Fundraising Guru, Mark Rittinger

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra names Mark Rittinger as new as Vice-President, Development

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointed of Mark Rittinger to the role of Vice-President, Development.

The hire marks a number of new faces at the VP level for the TSO including Adrian Fung Vice-President, Innovation, who was appointed this past October.

“As a remarkably successful fundraiser and an actor himself, Mark Rittinger is an incredible addition to our team, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a unique combination of artistic passion and fundraising skills to this role, TSO President & CEO Jeff Melanson stated in a press release statement. “We look forward to working with Mark as we continue to foster innovation and growth at the TSO, and are excited to have him join our strong leadership team.”

Mark Rittinger has worked as Director of Major Gifts and Campaign Director, New York Region, and for the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. Rittinger also served as Vice President, Development, for the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) Governors and was part of a team that raised more than $250 million in support of the transformational Renaissance ROM Campaign.

He is currently at York University as Executive Director, Development & Alumni Relations.

Rittinger’s new position will begin March 1, 2016.
