COFFEE BREAK | What Do Young People Think About Classical Music?

Philippe Quint

YouTube Poster

(via) We hear a lot about how to keep classical music culturally relevant in our society. It’s a complex issue, but Russian/American violinist Philippe Quint decided  to go out and ask some young people in New York City just what they thought about classical music. The results are striking.

Many of those asked seemed to know who Beethoven, Bach or Mozart were, but confessed they did not know very much about them.

Some even offered helpful suggestions on how classical music can stay culturally relevant and even promote itself better; Make a reality classical music TV show, to refresh it you have to put a new label on it, learn more about new living composers.

It’s all about dialogue, isn’t it?
