Only once in its history has the London Philharmonic Orchestra, widely regarded as one of the finest orchestral ensembles in the world, appeared on stage at Roy Thomson Hall. It’s the resident orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall in London and every summer it plays the same role at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera. And if you ever saw Lord of the Rings, the LPO is who you heard for the entire trilogy. The Orchestra will be led by its Principal Conductor, Vladimir Jurowski, who is also Principal Guest Conductor of the Russian National Orchestra and a Principal Artist of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Maestro Jurowski and the Orchestra will be joined by multi-award winning French pianist, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, who’s been hailed as one of the most engaging performers of his generation.

Magnus Lindberg: Chorale

The iconic pianist will make his first recital appearance at Roy Thomson Hall in 15 years. Few artists are declared “a living legend,” and fewer still at the age of 43. But the Russian-born superstar has an enthralling stage presence that the world clamors to hear – and proclaim. His last performance on the Grammy Awards was seen by over one billion people and he was the first pianist ever invited to give a recital at the BBC Proms. He’s also won the most prestigious awards in existence, including the Herbert von Karajan Music Prize and the Shostakovich Award.
