Oneida Nation group, The Ukwehuwe Connection, offer us a cultural sharing on National Indigenous Peoples’ Day – an opportunity to make a deeper and meaningful connection to the history of this land. Tafelmusik musicians enliven a summer afternoon in a magical setting! Fronting on Toronto’s inner harbour, the Toronto Music Garden is one of the city’s most enchanting locations. The idea for a park inspired by Bach’s First Suite for Unaccompanied Cello came from world-renowned cellist, Yo-Yo Ma, who collaborated with garden designer Julie Messervy. Julia Wedman and Cristina Zacharias, violins, Brandon Chui, viola, and Michael Unterman, violoncello, perform a selection of music by baroque composers including Leclair, Purcell, Handel, and Bach.
