March 24th brings the Toronto debut of the Esmé Quartet, four young women from Korea who are building an enviable reputation for depth and maturity both stylistically and musically. Special guest composer Soo Yeon Lyuh joins them for her Yessori, A Fantasia for Haegeum. How will this Korean 2- stringed instrument fit with Debussy and Beethoven? Just fine.

Nicholas Van Kuijk and his partner are expecting, so the Quatuor Van Kuijk is not travelling in October. We are pleased that the Pacifica Quartet agreed to accept the date.
