A coming together of two iconic Canadian artists \u2013 Michael Greyeyes adds his expressive choreography to Claude Vivier\u2019s enigmatic music. Our not-to-be missed event of the season, \u2018A Love Song to\u00a0Toronto\u2019 will be performed on April 28th, 2022 at St. Andrew\u2019s Church, Toronto.<\/p>\n
Choreographer, director, and actor Michael Greyeyes creates new dance works, inspired by two pieces of the late Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois composer Claude Vivier. The choreography based on Vivier\u2019s compositions \u201cShiraz\u201d and \u201cCinq chansons pour percussion\u201d will be presented on screen accompanied by a live musical performance, including percussion and piano.<\/p>\n
The performance also includes Christopher Mayo\u2019s composition, \u201cOceano Nox,\u201d inspired by Claude Vivier\u2019s music.<\/p>\n
\u2018A Love Song to\u00a0Toronto\u2019 is a celebration of Soundstreams\u2019 longtime collaboration with Michael Greyeyes, an enduring investment in Vivier\u2019s legacy presented to the beloved city of Toronto as we recover from the ramifications of a global pandemic.<\/p>\n
