Eve Egoyan\u00a0performs the world\u00a0premieres of\u00a0Seven Studies for Augmented Piano,\u00a0<\/b>which she created for a newly imagined instrument that delves into the space between what a piano can do and what\u00a0Eve\u00a0has always wished a piano could do.\u00a0The core of these works is the live acoustic sound of the physical piano she\u00a0is playing, but through the delicate intervention of technology, she\u00a0tests (teases) the edges of the piano\u2019s natural sound, ultimately pushing it beyond the familiar, through the impossible, and into the extraordinary.<\/p>\n

The livestream also includes the world premiere of a short video directed by Toronto filmmaker\u00a0Su Rynard:\u00a0\u00c9tudes for Augmented Piano<\/i>\u00a0takes the audience inside\u00a0Eve\u2019s world as she creates new works for this augmented piano. The video playfully reveals how the elusive sounds in her compositions are produced, while affirming how the listener is essential to\u00a0Eve\u2019s creative process, even in a time when isolation prevails.<\/p>\n
