Toronto audiences can look forward to exhilarating live performances of music Mari\u00f1o selected for his acclaimed album, Sopranista, including two arias from L\u2019Amant anonyme by Joseph Bologne. Tafelmusik\u2019s 2003 recording of instrumental music from this opera was among the first to bring the brilliance of this influential Black 18th-century composer to a wider audience.<\/p>\n
Mari\u00f1o\u2019s offerings include an exquisite aria from Mozart\u2019s Mitridate and Gluck\u2019s most famous aria, \u201cChe faro\u2019 senza Euridice\u201d from Orfeo ed Euridice. Hand-picked virtuoso arias from operas by Haydn and Salieri framed by orchestral music directed by Tafelmusik\u2019s \u201cinspirational\u201d Julia Wedman (Gramophone) complete the picture.<\/p>\n
