{"id":109426,"date":"2024-11-12T17:56:30","date_gmt":"2024-11-12T22:56:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=109426"},"modified":"2024-11-12T18:33:14","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T23:33:14","slug":"guitar-society-toronto-soloduo","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/event\/guitar-society-toronto-soloduo\/","title":{"rendered":"Guitar Society of Toronto | SoloDuo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SoloDuo | Matteo Mela and Lorenzo Micheli<\/p>\n<p>As SoloDuo, Matteo Mela and Lorenzo Micheli have performed throughout Europe, Asia, the USA, Canada and Latin America, and have been acclaimed everywhere \u2013 from New York\u2019s Carnegie Hall to Seoul\u2019s Sejong Chamber Hall, from Kiev\u2019s Hall of Columns to Vienna\u2019s Konzerthaus \u2013 as one of the best ensembles ever heard.In addition to classic, romantic and modern repertoire, Matteo and Lorenzo \u2013 joined by lutenist Massimo Lonardi \u2013 have extensively explored Italian music from the XVII and XVIII century for baroque guitar and theorbo.<\/p>\n<p>Together, Matteo and Lorenzo have made several recordings, including Fran\u00e7ois de Fossa\u2019s Three Quartets, op. 19 (2004), a CD of 17th Century Italian music for baroque guitar, archlute and theorbo (La Suave Melodia with Massimo Lonardi, 2008), a CD of Arias and Cantatas by Alessandro Scarlatti (Clori, ninfa e amante, 2013), an anthology of 20th Century masterpieces for two guitars (Solaria, 2007), the Duos Concertants by Antoine De Lhoyer (2007), and many more.<\/p>\n<p>They are the editors of the SoloDuo Collection for the Canadian publisher Productions d\u2019Oz.<\/p>\n<p>Matteo resides in Geneva, Switzerland, where he teaches at the Conservatoire Populaire. Lorenzo lives in Milan, Italy, and teaches at the University School of Music in Lugano, Switzerland.
