The Board of Directors responded in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are absolutely devastated about this outcome,\u201d said Rachel Smith-Spencer, Chair of the Board of Directors. \u201cIn the last three days, we have appealed to all of our major stakeholders and have exhausted all available avenues to secure the $2M required immediately to continue operations.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Fundraising<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/2023\/09\/20\/the-scoop-kitchener-waterloo-symphony-admin-musicians-react-in-the-wake-of-season-cancellation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">musicians of the KWS<\/a> have already banded together online, and initiated a GoFundMe to support the future of classical music in the region.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Donations can be made to the Support your KW Symphony Musicians fundraiser (administered by the musicians themselves) via GoFundMe [<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/support-your-kwsymphony-musicians\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a><\/strong>].<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The K-W Symphony Foundation is a separate organization, independent of the orchestra itself.
