The performance will take place October 15 at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a look at some of the details.<\/p>\n<h3>Madama Butterfly: The Cast<\/h3>\n<p>The cast features all-Canadian talent.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nikkei Canadian settler <strong>Teiya Kasahara<\/strong>, an award-winning soprano and multidisciplinary artist, will make their company debut in the tour-de-force role of Cio-Cio San. Kasahara&#8217;s own The Butterfly Project, a multidisciplinary performance piece, re-imagined Puccini&#8217;s opera, and was recently staged as part of Toronto Summer Music.<\/li>\n<li>Lyric tenor <strong>Rumulo Delgado<\/strong> complements Kasahara in the role of Pinkerton. Delgado is also a composer; his oratorio The Cross Of Christ had its premiere earlier this year.<\/li>\n<li>Ukrainian-Canadian <strong>Alexandra Beley<\/strong> makes her company debut in the role of Suzuki. Beley is an alumna of the prestigious L\u2019Atelier lyrique de l\u2019Op\u00e9ra de Montr\u00e9al.<\/li>\n<li>Baritone <strong>Christopher Dunham<\/strong> is also a graduate from l&#8217;Atelier lyrique de l&#8217;Op\u00e9ra de Montr\u00e9al, as well as Atlanta Opera\u2019s Young Artist Residency. He&#8217;ll be playing the role of Sharpless.<\/li>\n<li>Rounding out the cast are Ottawa-based tenor <strong>Corey Arnold<\/strong> as Goro, and Toronto-based baritone <strong>Michael Robert-Broder<\/strong> as Imperial Commissioner\/Prince Yamadori.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Southern Ontario Lyric Opera founder and music director <strong>Sabatino Vacca<\/strong> will conduct, including the Southern Ontario Lyric Opera Chorus and Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the October 15 performance are on sale [<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/burlingtonpac.ca\/events\/madama-butterfly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a><\/strong>].<\/p>\n<h3>2023-24 Season Highlights<\/h3>\n<p>The remainder of the 2023-24 season features favourite performers and beloved works from the opera repertoire.<\/p>\n<p><strong>December 20, 2023: Sounds of the Season and More!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The annual Christmas concert spotlights award-winning soprano and COC Ensemble member Karoline Podolak, with Canadian tenor Rocco Rupolo in his company debut, and Sabatino Vacca conducting, with the SOLO Chorus and Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p><strong>March 2, 2024: Carmen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the best known and most popular operas of all time, it\u2019s a first for the company, with casting to be announced.<\/p>\n<p>SOLO is proud to welcome <a href=\"https:\/\/www.classicalfm.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New Classical FM<\/a> radio station\u00a0as a new sponsor this season.
