Toronto Summer Music\/Jonathan Crow\/Philip Chiu<\/h3>\n

Monday July 17 at 7:30 p.m. Walter Hall. $26+ (under 35 $20+, seniors $21+)<\/p>\n

The TSM artistic director is joined by pianist Philip Chiu for a program comprising Brahms\u2019s Violin Sonata Op. 78, Strauss\u2019s underrated Violin Sonata Op. 18 and works by U of T alumni Kevin Lau (If Life Were a Mirror\u2026) and Alice Hong (\u2026for not all is lost). Toronto Summer Music\/Isidore String Quartet<\/h3>\n

Wednesday July 19 at 7:30 p.m. Walter Hall. $26+ (under 35 $20+, seniors $21+)<\/p>\n

The 2022 winners of the Banff International String Quartet Competition make their Toronto debut with selections from Bach\u2019s Art of Fugue, Beethoven\u2019s Quartet Op. 132, Aida Shirazi\u2019s Umbra and Dinuk Wijeratne\u2019s Disappearance of Lisa Gherardini (this last being a \u201cmusical escapade\u201d based on the theft of the Mona Lisa). Festival of the Sound\/Marc-Andr\u00e9 Hamelin\/Penderecki String Quartet<\/h3>\n

Thursday July 20 at 7:30 p.m. Charles Stockey Centre, Parry Sound ON. $67<\/p>\n

The Canadian virtuoso plays Nocturnes and Barcarolles by Faur\u00e9 and his own Suite \u00e0 l\u2019ancienne before joining the Penderecki foursome in Brahms\u2019s surefire Piano Quintet Op. 34. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Westben\/Janina Fialkowska<\/h3>\n

Saturday July 22 at 2 p.m. The Barn (Campbellford, ON). $65 (seniors $63, under 30 $30, under 18 $5)<\/p>\n

The based-in-Bavaria Canadian pianist makes a summer stop at the rural festival two hours east of Toronto. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Toronto Summer Music\/Brahms and Kod\u00e1ly<\/h3>\n

Saturday July 22 at 7:30 p.m. Walter Hall. $20<\/p>\n

Academy players (with a couple of ringers) apply themselves to Brahms\u2019s Piano Trio Op. 101 and String Sextet Op. 36. In between: Kod\u00e1ly\u2019s Serenade for Two Violins and Viola, Op. 12. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
