The theme expands on Music Toronto\u2019s Discovery concert series, incorporating new artists and a wide range of styles.<\/p>\n<p>The series of three concert events will take place in the Aperture Room, on the top floor of the historic Thornton-Smith Building on Yonge Street. Each of the concerts will feature three sets by different ensembles of vocalists and musicians.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_95717\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-95717\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-95717\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/04\/Small-Ensembles-2.jpg\" alt=\"L-R: Interro; K\u00f6NG Duo (Photos courtesy of the Festival)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"628\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-95717\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">L-R: Interro; K\u00f6NG Duo (Photos courtesy of the Festival)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The music presented in the program draws from centuries of repertoire from the Renaissance to the present day, including classical and jazz idioms, as well as instrumentation that incorporates the Chinese pipa and West African kora along with the usual suspects. There will be duos, trios, quartets, piano recitals, lutes and electric violas, and improvisation as well as amplification to add to the typical classical music mix.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the course of the last 50 years, Music TORONTO has treated enthusiastic audiences to extraordinary performances by many of the world\u2019s finest chamber ensembles and artists. June 3<\/h3>\n<h4>Far From Triumphing Court (Renaissance and Contemporary Songs Centred in Indigenous Storytelling) \/ duo nistwayr \u2014 Jonathon Adams, baritone\/Jesse Plessis, piano\/with Lucas Harris, lute<\/h4>\n<p>Poems revolving around the themes of land and water, with music by Dowland, Purcell, Crumb and Plessis.<\/p>\n<h4>Unspoken Poetry (Classical) \/ Interro Quartet \u2014 Steve Sang Koh, Eric Kim-Fujita, violins\/ Maxime Despax, viola\/Sebastian Ostertag, cello<\/h4>\n<p>Interro Quartet is known for their <em>Compound Quartet<\/em> programming, where they combine movements from four different composers to create a composite piece.
