Wednesday March 22 at 8 p.m. (repeats Thursday March 23 at 8 p.m., Saturday March 25 at 8 p.m. and Sunday March 26 at 3 p.m.). Roy Thomson Hall (March 22, 23, 25); George Weston Recital Hall (March 26). $78+<\/p>\n

Gimeno ends this program with Beethoven\u2019s surefire Fifth Symphony, after the noted Montreal-born Frenchman Jean-Guihen Queyras deals with the Cello Concertos of Schumann and Ligeti. Also heard are new works by Canadians Brian Harman and Iman Habibi. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

RCM\/Tak\u00e1cs Quartet\/Jeremy Denk<\/h3>\n

Thursday March 23 at 8 p.m. Koerner Hall. $50+<\/p>\n

The venerable Colorado-based ensemble joins the mid-career American pianist in a solidly Austro-German program of Haydn (String Quartet Op. 7 No. 2<\/em>), Fanny Mendelssohn (String Quartet in E Flat Major<\/em>) and Schumann (Piano Quintet<\/em>). Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Tapestry\/Of the Sea<\/h3>\n

Saturday March 25 at 8 p.m. (repeats March 28, 29, 31 at 8 p.m. and April 1 at 4 p.m.). Bluma Appel Theatre. $52+<\/p>\n

World premiere of an opera (Ian Cusson, music, and Kanika Ambrose, words) about an underwater kingdom peopled by Africans thrown into the Atlantic. \u201cHope and heartbreak\u201d are promised as a father seeks to save his daughter. Jennifer Tung leads 12 singers and an orchestra of 19. Info here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Soundstreams\/Steve Reich: Now and Then<\/h3>\n

Saturday March 25 at 8 p.m. George Weston Recital Hall. $65<\/p>\n

This tribute to the senior American minimalist Steve Reich features Drumming<\/em> as performed by NEXUS and the TorQ Percussion Quartet.
