I am honoured to be able to guide this remarkable ensemble into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Gustavo Gimeno<\/h3>\n<p>Gimeno first led the TSO as a guest conductor in 2018. He was quickly put on the short list after the retirement of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/2018\/07\/02\/scrutiny-peter-oundjian-has-left-the-building\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peter Oundjian.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gimeno kept the TSO as active as possible during the pandemic, with virtual performances and smaller-scale concerts.
