Toronto Symphony Orchestra\/Dalia Stasevska\/Sergei Babayan<\/h3>\n

Wednesday Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. at Roy Thomson Hall (repeats Thursday Nov. 24 at 8 p.m., Friday Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday Nov. 26 at 8 p.m.). $35+<\/p>\n

The repertoire is more than a little familiar \u2014 Tchaikovsky\u2019s Piano Concerto No. 1<\/em> and Symphony No. 6 \u201cPath\u00e9tique\u201d<\/em> \u2014 but the Ukrainian-born Finnish conductor Dalia Stasevska is an up-and-comer and the Armenian-American pianist Sergei Babayan is an underrated powerhouse. The program is completed by Birds of Paradise II<\/em>, a compendium of birdsong by the Swedish composer Andrea Torrodi. More information and tickets here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

U of T Opera\/A Comedic Trilogy<\/h3>\n

Thursday Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m. (repeats Friday Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday Nov. 27 at 2:30 p.m.). MacMillan Theatre. $40 (seniors $25; students $10)<\/p>\n

The opera school mounts a bound-to-amuse triple bill of Hindemith\u2019s Hin und Z\u00fcruck<\/em>, Offenbach\u2019s Monsieur Choufleuri<\/em> and Douglas Moore\u2019s Gallantry<\/em>. Royal Conservatory Orchestra\/Tania Miller<\/h3>\n

Friday Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. Koerner Hall. $25+<\/p>\n

The B.C.-based conductor leads a program of Valentin Silvestrov (The Messenger<\/em>, a neo-Mozartian piano concerto), Beethoven (Piano Concerto No. 1<\/em>) and Shostakovich (Symphony No. 5<\/em>). Tafelmusik Choir\/Reflections of Mary<\/h3>\n

Friday Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. (repeats Saturday Nov. 26 at 2 p.m.). Jeanne Lamon Hall. $25+<\/p>\n

A program focusing on music dedicated to the Virgin Mary features Charpentier\u2019s substantial Missa Assumpta est Maria<\/em> as its main event. Poulenc also is promised, along with a premiere by the Canadian composer Tawnie Olson. More information and tickets here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mooredale Concerts\/Ensemble Caprice<\/h3>\n

Sunday, Nov. 27 at 3:15 p.m. Walter Hall. $30+<\/p>\n

Mooredale presents the inventive Montreal baroque group in a Vivaldi program featuring The Four Nations<\/em>, a cycle of concertos mostly reconstructed from fragments. France, Spain, England and India are represented. More information and tickets here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Esprit Orchestra\/Violinissimo<\/h3>\n

Sunday, Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. Koerner Hall. $25+<\/p>\n

Three concertmasters (Marie B\u00e9rard, Aaron Schwebel, Stephen Sitarski) join forces in Alexina Louie\u2019s Triple Concerto<\/em>. Also heard are violin concertos by Jose Evangelista, John Rea and Andrew Staniland. Alex Pauk conducts. Arrive at 7:15 p.m. for a pre-concert chat.
