Along with the prize itself, individually named recipients received a $1,000 cash prize from the Pat and Tony Adams Freedom Fund for the Arts.<\/p>\n<p>Tapestry Opera, in partnership with OCAD University, dominated the Opera Division, winning a total of six out of seven awards \u2014 the most in any division. The only other production to receive an award for opera was the COC for its co-production with Houston Grand Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago of <em>La Traviata<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Opera Division Details<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s the breakdown of the Opera Division:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Outstanding Production: <em>R.U.R. A Torrent of Light<\/em>, Tapestry Opera production in partnership with OCAD University;<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding Performance by an Individual: Amina Edris, <em>La Traviata<\/em>, Canadian Opera Company Co-<br \/>\nproduction with Houston Grand Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago;<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble: Maeve Palmer, Annie Ramos, Jennifer Routhier, Sofi Gudi\u00f1o, Katherine Semchuk, Emily Spearing and Brayden Cairns,<em> R.U.R. A Torrent of Light<\/em>, Tapestry<br \/>\nOpera production in partnership with OCAD University;<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding New Opera: Nicole Liz\u00e9e (composer) and Nicolas Billon (librettist), <em>R.U.R. A Torrent of Light<\/em>, Tapestry Opera production in partnership with OCAD University;<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding Musical Direction: Gregory Oh, <em>R.U.R. A Torrent of Light<\/em>, Tapestry Opera production in partnership with OCAD University;<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding Direction: Michael Hidetoshi Mori, <em>R.U.R. A Torrent of Light<\/em>, Tapestry Opera production in partnership with OCAD University;<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding Achievement in Design: Debashis Sinha (sound design\/composition) <em>R.U.R. A Torrent<\/em><br \/>\n<em>of Light<\/em>, Tapestry Opera production in partnership with OCAD University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Other highlights<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Here are some of the highlights in other divisions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>In My Body<\/em>, Co-presented by dance Immersion, Canadian Stage and TO Live, takes home 4 Dora Awards to lead the Dance Division;<\/li>\n<li><em>Wildfire<\/em> leads General Theatre Division with 3 Doras including Outstanding Production, Outstanding New Play and Outstanding Direction;<\/li>\n<li><em>Italian Mime Suicide<\/em> wins 5 Doras in the Independent Theatre Division, including Outstanding Production, Outstanding New Play, Outstanding Direction, Outstanding Costume Design and Outstanding Lighting<\/li>\n<li><em>Sweeney Todd<\/em> heads the Musical Theatre Division with 5 Dora Awards, including Outstanding Production, Outstanding Performance in a Featured Role and Leading Role, plus Outstanding Direction and Outstanding Original Choreography;<\/li>\n<li><em>MOBY: A Whale of a Tale<\/em> picks up 4 Doras in the Theatre For Young Audiences Division for Outstanding Production, Outstanding New Play, Outstanding Direction and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble;<\/li>\n<li>Sky Dancers collects the Outstanding Touring Production Dora for the Touring Division;<\/li>\n<li>Pat Bradley named as 2022 Silver Ticket Award laureate;<\/li>\n<li><em>Alice in Wonderland<\/em> wins the Jon Kaplan Audience Choice Award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Congratulations to all the winners.
