Award-winning dance troupe CORPUS and the Junction BIA have teamed up to present a series of free dance performances every Saturday from September 3 until December 24. The performances will take place along Dundas Street West in the Junction neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the recent success of CORPUS\u2019 performance of The Alpine Merry Sheep Choir<\/em> (a version of Les moutons<\/em>) in the Junction, we\u2019re excited to partner with them once again and take this project to new heights,\u201d said Carol Jolly, Executive Director, The Junction BIA in a media release. \u201cBy bringing world-renowned street performances to the Junction, we\u2019re continuing to position the Junction as a leading destination for the performing arts, while also increasing foot traffic to help support our local businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Shows<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Divine Interventions<\/em>, nominated for three DORA Awards, (outstanding new musical, outstanding musical direction, and Outstanding Original Choreography), is the first show, kicking off the program on Labour Day weekend 2022.<\/p>\n

  • Nuit Blanche<\/strong> <\/em>(Every Saturday in Oct) \u2014 Three insomniacs drift into an afternoon of waking dreams and fitful sleep as the audience gets a look into the sleeping subconscious.<\/li>\n
  • Camping Royale<\/strong> <\/em>(Every Saturday in Nov) \u2014 Queen Sophie-Charlotte and Queen Louise go on an absurdist trip through fairytales and audience interaction in this satire of privilege and colonialism.<\/li>\n
  • The Alpine Merry Sheep Choir<\/em><\/strong> (Every Saturday in Dec) \u2014 Talented sheep singing Christmas carols with their beloved shepherd \u2014 it\u2019s a CORPUS spin on the classic holiday concert.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Toronto’s CORPUS dance theatre company have made a name for themselves with performances that combine dance, comedy and more \u2014 notably their sheep series. CORPUS has toured 38 countries on five continents, giving more than 1,000 performances.<\/p>\n
