\"\"<\/a>The Ensemble Contemporain de Montr\u00e9al has concluded its annual tour of works by emerging Canadian composers by announcing Riho Maimets’s<\/a> composition as the winner of this year’s audience prize.<\/p>\n

A total of 720 audience members from concerts in eight cities voted 79 per cent for Maimets’ B\u00e9atitude<\/em>, earning him the “Prix du public G\u00e9n\u00e9ration 2012,” which includes a $1,500 cheque as well as a commission of a new chamber work that will be premiered by the Ensemble next season.<\/p>\n

Torontonian Maimets is currently studying at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
