They noted Knight\u2019s contributions to the Toronto Consort during her seven-year tenure, including helming the organization as it grew into the digital world, and the launch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/2020\/11\/17\/scoop-toronto-consort-pivots-online-streaming-subscription-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Early Music TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Reactions&#8230;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s hard to find the words to express how much we\u2019ll all miss Michelle. Her enthusiastic vision for the Consort, her professionalism, her tireless dedication to such a multifaceted job, her kindness, and her care for the well-being of everyone involved with the organization are just a few of the many gifts she\u2019s shared since she joined us seven years ago. We\u2019re grateful for her wise, innovative, and steadying influence, particularly during the choppy waters of these pandemic years. Though we\u2019re sad to see her go, we wish her success and happiness in this new phase of her career!&#8221; \u2014 <strong>Alison Melville<\/strong>, on behalf of the Artistic Associates<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The past seven years at the Consort have been the highlight of both my personal life and my professional career. Thank you for this opportunity to make meaningful music connections.&#8221; \u2014 <strong>Michelle Knight<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mx. <strong>Addie Smith<\/strong>, Director of Audience Engagement and Education, will take over the Managing Director\u2019s role in the interim. Smith had worked closely with Knight over a period of several years.<\/p>\n<p>The Toronto Consort was founded in 1972, and has since garnered an international reputation for their performances of music from the medieval, renaissance and early baroque periods \u2014 roughly between 1100 and 1650 AD.
