Tafelmusik Board Chair David Kilburn<\/strong> announced that Executive Director Carol Kehoe<\/strong> will be stepping down from her position.<\/p>\n

The organization will form a search committee immediately with a view to finding their replacement. In the meantime, the Board has appointed Daniela Nardi<\/strong> as Interim Executive Director, effective July 1.<\/p>\n

Carol Kehoe will be working with Symphony Nova Scotia as Director of Marketing and Communications after relocating to the province for family reasons.<\/p>\n

Kehoe began her appointment with Tafelmusik in 2018, and helmed the organization as it weathered two years of pandemic unpredictability. Despite the challenges, she delivered three successive surplus budgets for Tafelmusik. Staff were maintained during the lockdowns, and artists were compensated.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am delighted to have been a part of one of Canada\u2019s true performing arts gems and look forward to watching Tafelmusik continue to adapt as the nation\u2019s cultural landscape evolves,\u201d said Carol Kehoe<\/strong> in a media release. \u201cI convey my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the board, musicians, staff, and volunteers.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of her legacy, and in response to the pandemic, Kehoe oversaw the organization\u2019s boost in its ability to deliver engaging digital content online. Initiatives like Tafelmusik Together, Tafelmusik at Home, Tafel Talks, Tafel Magazine, and Musik in Motion have attracted new audiences worldwide.<\/p>\n

Kehoe also created the organization\u2019s first ever diversity plan, among other accomplishments.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarol\u2019s capable, steady hand has guided Tafelmusik through the turbulence caused by the global pandemic,\u201d said David Kilburn<\/strong>. \u201cOver the past four years, she has kept Tafelmusik on course while introducing opportunities for innovation and increased community engagement, even as we navigated a disruptive and unprecedented situation. We are extremely grateful to Carol for her leadership and dedication and wish her the very best in her new role.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daniela Nardi<\/strong> is both an award-winning musician and experienced cultural leader. She is founder and Artistic Director of the Salone di Cultura, Cultural Director of the Columbus Centre, and board member at Villa Charities.<\/p>\n

She recently served as Executive\/Artistic Director of 918 Bathurst Culture Arts Media and Education from 2017 to 2021. Her current passion project is developing a music series and festival she\u2019s calling the Italian Music Experience or TEMPO Fest, where she\u2019ll be the Artistic Director and CEO.<\/p>\n

Kehoe\u2019s move comes not long after the organization announced the sudden departure of Music Director Elisa Citterio<\/a> in April of this year.<\/p>\n
