Classical music is coming back!<\/p>\n<p>This week, Tafelmusik has joined the chorus of renewed optimism with one of the strongest season artist line-ups we\u2019ve seen in years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter more than two years of filming concerts for online broadcast, we are looking forward to reuniting with our audience and reigniting the power of live music,\u201d said Executive Director Carol Kehoe.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>2022\/23 Season Highlights:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Bach <em>St John Passion<\/em><\/strong>, a large-scale choral masterpiece with contemporary projections<\/li>\n<li>The long-awaited return of Tafelmusik\u2019s Handel <strong><em>Messiah<\/em><\/strong> performances<\/li>\n<li>Tafelmusik premiere of <strong>Louise Farrenc<\/strong>\u2019s <em>Nonet<\/em> (1849)<\/li>\n<li>Music by contemporary composers, including <em>Short Story<\/em> by <strong>Allen Whear<\/strong> and a new choral commission by <strong>Tawnie Olsen<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The return of the <strong>Digital Series Pass<\/strong>, featuring three exclusive digital concert films: Handel <em>Messiah<\/em>, Bach <em>Brandenburg Concertos<\/em>, and <em>La Passione: Handel &amp; Mozart<\/em> (available as an addition to live-concert subscriptions)<\/li>\n<li>Tafelmusik is proud to continue its partnership with\u00a0<strong>Opera Atelier<\/strong>\u00a0this season. Details on Opera Atelier\u2019s 2022\/23 season are coming May 3 at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.operaatelier.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">operaatelier.com<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>New voices<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Artists making their Tafelmusik debuts next season include Soprano <strong>Myriam Leblanc<\/strong>, male soprano <strong>Samuel Mari\u00f1o<\/strong>, countertenor <strong>Christopher Lowrey<\/strong>, and tenor <strong>Valerio Contaldo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Harpsichordists and guest directors <strong>Francesco Corti<\/strong> and <strong>Avi Stein<\/strong> will also be making their debuts.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>A blast from the past<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u2026Fan favourites include special appearances by Jonathon Adams, Karina Gauvin, Samuel Mari\u00f1o, Aisslinn Nosky, and Rachel Podger.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Three concerts we\u2019re looking forward to most<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Former Tafelmusik violinist <strong>Aisslinn Nosky<\/strong> returns to Toronto to lead the orchestra in large-scale chamber works from the romantic period. Soloists include Karina Gauvin, Christopher Lowrey, Valerio Contaldo, and Brett Polegato.<\/p>\n<p>Rising male soprano <strong>Samuel Mari\u00f1o<\/strong> made big waves with his extraordinary debut album <em>Care<\/em> <em>pupille<\/em> in 2020.
