He was promoted to principal dancer in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Notable career highlights include the title role in Will Tuckett&#8217;s <em>Pinocchio<\/em>,<em> Nijinsky<\/em>, <em>Le Petit Prince<\/em> and <em>The Nutcracker<\/em>, Mercutio and Benvolio in<em> Romeo and Juliet<\/em>, Hilarion in <em>Giselle<\/em>, Alain in <em>La Fille malgard\u00e9e<\/em>, Gurn in <em>La Sylphide<\/em>, and <em>Alice&#8217;s Adventures in Wonderland<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a bittersweet goodbye,\u201d said Campbell. \u201cThe National Ballet of Canada has been my artistic home for 12 years. I will forever carry beautiful memories shared on and off the stage alongside my inspirational colleagues at the company. The National Ballet has provided me with many fantastic opportunities, and I am looking forward to this next chapter in my career with Houston Ballet.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Quick Math<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s been a busy season for principal dancers at the National Ballet. With principal dancers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/2021\/10\/12\/scoop-principal-dancer-retires-national-ballet-canada-22-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jillian Vanstone<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/2021\/09\/07\/scoop-national-ballet-canadas-sonia-rodriguez-confirms-retirement-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sonia Rodriguez<\/a>, Elena Lobonova, Hannah Fischer, and now Campbell either departing or retiring, this makes five dancers leaving the National Ballet this season.
