She will play during rehearsals and auditions, as well as perform in some concerts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am truly honoured to join the artistic team of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and esteemed conductors, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/2021\/06\/07\/interview-conversation-jean-sebastien-vallee-toronto-mendelssohn-choirs-new-conductor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jean-S\u00e9bastien Vall\u00e9ee<\/a> and Simon Rivard,\u201d said Gregorio in a statement. \u201cThroughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our long tacet has given us time to reflect and shift our priorities. Coming together again to make music takes on new meaning and a re-energized vision, and I look forward to delving into the exciting programming that is planned for this 21-22 season!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gregorio will begin rehearsals on September 13\u00a0in preparation the season beginning on November 2. TMC has yet to announce full season details, but we anticipate an announcement sometime this September.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Background<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Gregorio recently returned home from the US to Canada, where she currently serves as the Director of Music Ministry at Dublin St. United Church, and Sessional Instructor of Piano at the University of Guelph. She has served as pianist for the Los Angeles Children&#8217;s Chorus, the Gay Men&#8217;s Chorus of Los Angeles, and the University of Southern California Chamber Singers, among others.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What does a collaborative pianist do?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Formerly known as an accompanist, a collaborative pianist plays a pivotal role for any music organisation where they work towards rehearsing, and in some cases performing works.
