The reason is complicated, but the long-smouldering reverence for classical music\u2019s past can sometimes leave audiences missing out on classical music\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Composers: better off dead?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>The Azrieli Foundation<\/strong> is putting their money where their mouths are to ensure you have a chance to hear some music by actual living composers.<\/p>\n<p>Now in the second year, Azrieli Music Prizes Performance Fund is inviting proposals for performances over the next three seasons through 2023-24.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Details<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Performances must feature winning works from the 2016, 2018, and 2020 AMP editions.<\/li>\n<li>Applications are open to chamber and symphonic orchestras for support of up to $25,000 to cover expenses relating to score and parts rental, soloist fees, rehearsals, augmented concert promotions, and some travel expenses.<\/li>\n<li>Proposals must be received by Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
