Watch out Tafelmusik. There\u2019s a new period ensemble on the block.<\/p>\n

Violin virtuoso Nicola Benedetti will be releasing her first-ever period album on Decca Classics this summer.<\/p>\n

The release will coincide with a series of eight live performances at London\u2019s Battersea Arts Centre this July.<\/p>\n

The album will feature Benedetti performing with a new ensemble of freelance musicians called the Benedetti Baroque Orchestra. The baroque \u201csupergroup\u201d will include harpsichordist Steven Devine, violinist Kati Debretzeni and lutenist Elizabeth Kenny.<\/p>\n

Repertoire includes Vivaldi concertos and Geminiani\u2019s arrangement of Corelli\u2019s La Folia<\/em>.<\/p>\n
