\"JUNO-2021\"<\/p>\n

With last year\u2019s Juno awards celebration in Saskatoon cancelled, the 50th annual awards scheduled for Toronto are extra special this year.<\/p>\n

Spanning the four categories in Classical Music, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra<\/strong> has been nominated for two awards in the Classical Album of the year (large ensemble) for Ginastera \u2013 Bernstein \u2013 Moussa<\/em> with Andrew Wan<\/strong>, and Penderecki: St. Luke Passion<\/em> with the Krak\u00f3w Philharmonic Choir<\/strong> and Warsaw Boys\u2019 Choir<\/strong>. Les Violons du Roy<\/strong> with Charles Richard-Hamelin<\/strong>, BBC Philharmonic<\/strong>, and the Laval Symphony Orchestra<\/strong> with Jean-Philippe Sylvestre<\/strong> were also nominated.<\/p>\n

The Solo\/Chamber classical album of year nominees include Ensemble Made In Canada<\/strong>\u00a0for the Mosa\u00efque project,<\/strong> James Ehnes<\/strong> (nominated for two in the category), Jon Kimura Parker<\/strong>, Jens Lindemann<\/strong>, the Bozzini String Quartet<\/strong>, and ensemble Les Barocudas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Competition in the vocal category is fierce this year with nominations for the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir<\/strong> and Toronto Symphony Orchestra<\/strong> featuring the late Erin Wall<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, the Ludwig Orchestra<\/strong> with soprano Barbara Hannigan<\/strong>, Karina Gauvin<\/strong> with Pacific Baroque Orchestra<\/strong>, Sarah Slean<\/strong> with the Symphony Nova Scotia<\/strong>, and Calgary\u2019s Luminous Voices<\/strong> for their recording of Peter-Anthony Togni\u2019s Sea Dreams.<\/p>\n
