Stratford Summer Music (SSM) has hired Kendra Fry as General Manager, effective April 1, 2021.<\/p>\n
Fry will replace Judy Matheson, who had served in the role for seven years.<\/p>\n
Hailing from Goderich, Ontario, Fry has served as General Manager of Toronto\u2019s Trinity-St. Paul\u2019s Centre since 2013. She also works as a consultant assisting in repurposing buildings for faith-based organisations. She is currently a consultant to the Knox Presbyterian Church and Stratford Arts and Culture Collective, advising on governance, redesign and planned housing in a proposed arts centre-church-housing complex.<\/p>\n
Before that, Fry served as General Manager of Theatre Passe Muraille and General Manager of the Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company and Cahoots Theatre Projects.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen my family and I made the decision last April to embrace our dreams and move to Stratford, we had no idea that SSM would be seeking a new General Manager,\u201d explained Fry. \u201cI feel like I\u2019ve won the lottery, moving to Stratford and joining Stratford Summer Music. Stratford is such a creative and engaging city.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOur search for Judy\u2019s successor has found us someone with significant depth of experience in the arts world,\u201d said SSM Artistic Director Mark Fewer. \u201cShe\u2019s also a person with a disposition that connects well with others in the community, so I have no doubt that Kendra will make a significant contribution to the well-being of Stratford and the long-term health of SSM.\u201d<\/p>\n
