Investigators from the Toronto police 13 Division are asking the public for any information on the whereabouts of a 263-year-old violin that went missing on the TTC Subway Thursday around 6:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p>The violin is a 1757 Lorenzo-Carcassi with a red hard-shell BAM case. The case also has a black handle and a shoulder strap.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, the instrument went missing while the owner was travelling westbound to St. George station, making a final transfer to Line 1 towards St. Clair West station. The violin was first noticed missing after the owner had left St. Clair station.<\/p>\n<p>The owner has previously transferred from the TTC subway system Line 1 from College Street station northbound to the Bloor-Yonge station.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Police, the violin has not been turned in to the TTC\u2019s lost and found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is something we\u2019ll be working hard to solve and we\u2019ll be reviewing video in the subway,\u201d Const. A recent auction for a similar Lorenzo Carcassi violin from April 2012 at Christie\u2019s was $18,750.
