With most of Toronto\u2019s arts organisations in a holding pattern, Sinfonia Toronto are moving ahead with a return to the stage on October 25<\/a><\/span> with a program of Beethoven, Shostakovich, and Toronto-based composer Saman Shahi. The concert is a tribute to our front-line workers and health care providers.<\/p>\n “It was difficult to decide how to begin a new season after months of tragic loss of life around the world,\u201d said Music Director\u00a0Nurhan Arman<\/strong>. \u201cBut it seemed to be a natural choice to program two great composers like Beethoven and Shostakovich, whose music expresses their humanity with unparalleled power. They were both composers of revolution. They lived in revolutionary times, and in their own way, they revolutionized the music of their times.\u201d<\/p>\n Now entering its 22nd season, Toronto’s chamber orchestra will present four concerts in the orchestra’s long-time home, CBC Glenn Gould Studio, and three in Koerner Hall.<\/p>\n While in-person attendance is currently sold-out, audiences can tune in to watch live on October 25 at 3:30 p.m. The concert will be available online for 29 additional days.<\/p>\n Complete information for all Sinfonia Toronto’s virtual concerts is available on the orchestra’s website<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n#LUDWIGVAN<\/em><\/h3>\n
