From the Opera House<\/strong> will include online broadcasts of past performances from the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts available online for a limited time.<\/p>\n<p>Late-September will feature a rebroadcast <strong>Songs of Hope: From Our Homes to Yours<\/strong>, an event recorded last spring with the 2020 COC Ensemble Studio members.<\/p>\n<p>Audiences will be able to see COC\u2019s <strong>Free Concert Series<\/strong> revived over a three-days from Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre with performances from a wide range of styles and genres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.) COC in Conversation<\/strong> will begin in October with MusicMindBody, a panel discussion led by Music therapist <strong>Dr. SarahRose Black<\/strong> and COC Music Director <strong>Johannes Debus<\/strong> exploring music\u2019s impact on our minds and bodies.<\/p>\n<p>The COC will also launch <strong>Key Change<\/strong>, a new interview-based podcast exploring the experience of attending operas. The podcast will be co-hosted by <strong>Robyn Grant-Moran<\/strong> (a member of the COC\u2019s Indigenous Circle of Artists) and <strong>Julie McIsaac<\/strong> (COC Director\/Dramaturg-in-Residence).<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.) Opera for Toronto<\/strong> will centre on presenting local pop-up concerts, including a new partnership with the Art Gallery of Ontario in January 2021 with Artists of the COC Ensemble Studio performing live socially distanced performances in the gallery space.<\/p>\n<p>The COC stated the pivot to a digital format is temporary, and that they are actively preparing for a return to in-person productions as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Four mainstage productions are tentatively scheduled for Winter and Spring 2021: Georges Bizet <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coc.ca\/productions\/20693\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Carmen<\/em><\/a><\/span> (January 23 \u2013 February 19, 2021), Leo\u0161 Jan\u00e1\u010dek\u2019s <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coc.ca\/productions\/20699\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Katya Kabanova<\/em><\/a><\/span> (February 6 \u2013 20, 2021), Giuseppe Verdi\u2019s <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coc.ca\/productions\/20705\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>La Traviata<\/em><\/a><\/span> (April 17 \u2013 May 14), and Christoph Willibald Gluck\u2019s <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coc.ca\/productions\/20711\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Orfeo ed Euridice<\/em><\/a><\/span> (May 1- 15).<\/p>\n<p>The fall 2020 season announcement follows the <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/toronto\/2020\/08\/26\/scoop-canadian-opera-companys-alexander-neef-start-head-paris-opera-september\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">news<\/a><\/span> late August that COC General Director <strong>Alexander Neef<\/strong> has left Toronto to begin his new role as head of <strong>Op\u00e9ra national de Paris<\/strong> one year early.
