Canada\u2019s largest music prize for composition has announced they will stream this year\u2019s Gala concert from Montr\u00e9al\u2019s Salle Claude-Champagne on Medici TV, October 22, 2020, at 8:00 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n

The Azrieli Music Prizes were established in 2014, and awarded biannually. Two of the prizes focus on new Jewish music, with a third piece commissioned from a Canadian composer.<\/p>\n

The Gala will feature the performance of works by three winners Yitzhak Yedid (2020 Azrieli Prize for Jewish Music), Yotam Haber (2020 Azrieli Commission for Jewish Music), Keiko Devaux (2020 Azrieli Commission for Canadian Music), as well as a work by composer Pierre Mercure.<\/p>\n

The three winners will receive a prize valued at $200,000, including $50,000 cash, two international performances, and a recording on the Analekta classical music label.<\/p>\n

Performers include Le Nouvel Ensemble Moderne<\/strong> with soloists Krisztina Szab\u00f3<\/strong> (mezzo-soprano) and Sharon Azrieli<\/strong> (soprano).<\/p>\n
