Ontario\u2019s Elora Festival has just announced a new three-day mini-festival online with some of the biggest names in Canadian classical music between August 6 \u2013 8, 2020.<\/p>\n
The artist line-up includes performances by The Elora Singers, soprano Measha Brueggergosman, tenor Lawrence Wiliford, lutenist Lucas Harris, soprano Patricia O\u2019Callaghan, jazz pianist and singer-songwriter Laila Biali, a new chamber musical The Missing Pages<\/em> by Tom Allen, and Confluence Concerts.<\/p>\n \u201cThis has certainly been a difficult time for the cultural community around the world,\u201d said Artistic Director Mark Vuorinen. \u201cConcert halls are dark, and artists have lost many performance opportunities since the middle of March. The absence of live performance during this pandemic has been deeply felt by all of us, and we are looking forward to presenting some of the artists who had been engaged for this summer\u2019s festival, but at a distance, in pre-recorded performances from their homes and studios.\u201d<\/p>\n The festival will also offer a virtual taste of Elora\u2019s culinary scene with cooking demos from local chefs.<\/p>\n Tickets are on sale now on the Elora Festival\u00a0website<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n Want more updates on classical music and opera news and reviews?
