While Canada\u2019s music festival season is busy moving online, The\u00a0Stratford Summer Music\u00a0Festival<\/strong> has announced they will be presenting 30 live events on Stratford Ontario\u2019s picturesque Avon River this July and August.<\/p>\n All events will be free and use their signature musicbarge, the Stratford Belle, to provide live music to an audience enjoyed from the shoreline.<\/p>\n In keeping with provincial guidelines concerning physical distancing, the barge will move up and down the river adjacent to the promenade to help ensure large groups do not congregate in single locations.<\/p>\n The free performances will occur Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 2 and 4 pm, from July 24 until August 23. Performers include\u00a0Phillip Addis<\/strong>, Emily Hamper<\/strong>, Dayna Manning<\/strong>, Mark McIntosh<\/strong>, Rachelle Shubert<\/strong>, Paul Shilton<\/strong>,\u00a0Hannah Thomas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n On July 20, the festival will host an Opening Night Gala online from\u00a0Revival House<\/strong>\u00a0in Stratford. Artistic Director\u00a0Mark Fewer<\/strong>,\u00a0will join artists\u00a0Jens Lindemann<\/strong>,\u00a0Tom Allen<\/strong>, Principal Harpist of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony\u00a0Lori Gemmell<\/strong>, Break Beat Poet\u00a0Idris\u00a0Goodwin<\/strong>,\u00a0Phillip Addis<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Emily Hamper<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Tom Allen<\/strong>‘s chamber musical “The Missing Pages”, will close the festival with a streamed online performance on Friday, August 21.<\/p>\n Visit\u00a0stratfordsummermusic.ca<\/a><\/span>\u00a0for all the details.<\/p>\n Want more updates on classical music and opera news and reviews?
