Now more than ever it is critical to ensure a vibrant and sustainable future for our wonderful symphony orchestra. We look forward to welcoming our audiences back to the concert hall to experience live symphonic music as soon as we are able to perform safely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pacific Opera Victoria was to present mainstage productions of<em> Carmen<\/em>, <em>Death in Venice<\/em> and <em>Don Giovanni<\/em> at Victoria\u2019s Royal Theatre and McPherson Playhouse, which remain closed until the foreseeable future. They have instead focused on \u201cOpera Etc.\u201d, an online initiative that features free programming online.<\/p>\n<p>Dance Victoria said, \u201cit is a heartbreaking decision for dance and performing arts lovers, our artistic collaborators\u2026\u201d but remain \u201ccommitted to returning to its performances when it is deemed safe to do so by the Province of British Columbia and its top health officials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>British Columbia is currently in phase two of a four-phase program to re-open the economy amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Phase three will allow for gatherings of up to 50, and phase four is contingent on the development of a vaccine or herd immunity.<\/p>\n<p>Until phase four is launched, Victoria\u2019s three major arts organisations will focus on producing social media content, and are developing plans for remote events online.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\"><em>#LUDWIGVAN<\/em><\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\"><em>Want more updates on classical music and opera news and reviews?
