Despite hopes that the Toronto Symphony Orchestra might be able to resume their season beyond June, the orchestra has officially cancelled all remaining events through June 27.<\/p>\n
The cancellation spans 16 events and a total of 36 scheduled concerts, including the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra.<\/p>\n
The TSO will postpone two events, Joe Hisaishi in Concert (June 26, 2021) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens \u2014 In Concert (May 13\u201315, 2021).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe cancellation of a third of our season is devastating in so many ways, said CEO\u00a0Matthew Loden<\/strong>\u00a0in a press release statement. \u201cThe very thing that drives us \u2014 making exquisite music that connects us with our audience in a common journey \u2014 has been taken away by this heartbreaking health crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n The TSO is offering ticket holders the option of donating the value of their tickets, a refund or credit or gift certificate for a future concert.<\/p>\n Subscribers and patrons can contact TSO Patron Services Representatives at 416.598.3375 or contactus@TSO.CA<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n The TSO\u2019s 2020-21 season will return\u00a0September 23<\/a><\/span>, with a conductor Gustavo Gimeno, and mezzo-soprano Emily D\u2019Angelo.<\/p>\n Want more updates on classical music and opera news and reviews?
