The Canadian Opera Company has invited four young opera hopefuls to join the renowned Ensemble Studio training program this summer.<\/p>\n

Midori Marsh (soprano), Jonah Spungin (baritone), Alex Halliday (bass-baritone), and Frances Thielmann (pianist\/intern coach) will join the multi-year program in Toronto beginning August 2020.<\/p>\n

They will be joining returning artists Matthew Cairns, Vartan Gabrielian, Jamie Groote, Anna-Sophie Neher and pianist\/intern coach Alex Soloway.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Midori, Alex, Jonah, and Frances,\u201d the company recognized a perfectly timed development opportunity that will provide these four with the support and guidance required to elevate their performance as industry professionals,\u201d said Nina Dragani\u0107, Director of the COC Academy, in a press release statement.<\/p>\n

The Ensemble Studio Artists will perform roles in mainstage productions and receive vocal coaching, language, movement and acting lessons. Participants will also attend masterclasses with internationally renowned opera professionals and receive guidance in financial, career and nutrition.<\/p>\n

We look forward to hearing them in the 2020\/2021 COC season!<\/p>\n
