The Seventh Annual Elizabeth Krehm Memorial Concert presents a program of Bruch: Kol Nidrei<\/em> with cellist Michel Strauss; Shostakovich: Symphony No. 5<\/em>; Richard Strauss: Four Last Songs<\/em> with soprano Rachel Krehm. The Canzona Chamber Players Orchestra conducted by Evan Mitchell. This annual event has raised over $100,000 in the past six years. Set to music by Czerny, Harald Lander\u2019s Etudes<\/em> is a fantastic, heart-stopping piece on virtuosic technique in ballet. I saw this many years ago at ABT and never forgot it. Only dancers with the requisite bravura technique qualify, and the National certainly has the dancers! Also on the program is Alexei Ratmansky\u2019s Piano Concerto No. 1<\/em>, and Petite Mort<\/em> by Czech choreographer Ji\u0159\u00ed Kyli\u00e1n. | Details<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The Pax Christi Chorale is joined by musicians from the Glenn Gould School and the Taylor Academy of the RCM in a performance of the Children\u2019s Messiah<\/em>, aimed to introduce young audiences to a great choral work in a one-hour interactive performance, with simple narration and sing-along carols. | Details<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
