Julian Lloyd Webber has written a nice article <\/a>in praise of composer Frederick Delius (Jan. 29, 1862-June 10, 1934), a master of sweet musical depiction, for the Guardian.<\/p>\n

It helps kickstart this year’s list of composer birth anniversaries that includes Giovanni Gabrielli’s 400th and John Cage’s centenary (which should, naturally, be observed with 4 ’33” of silence).<\/p>\n

You can find a wealth of information about the English-born composer at the Delius Society<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Delius’s anniverary is going to be overshadowed by Claude Debussy’s 150th, so I thought I’d get a plug in early with something seasonal, done on my Sunday instrument, the organ, played by talented American organist-pilot Aram Basmadjian<\/a> (who has a local counterpart in Guelph-based organist-pilot, Michael Bloss):<\/p>\n
