Ren\u00e9e Fleming accompanied by fellow Canadian musician\u00a0Edwin Huizinga perform a beautiful rendition of the Irish classic “Danny Boy” at the funeral of Arizona Senator John McCain.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Toronto was beaming with pride yesterday\u00a0after reports started flooding in from social media that Toronto violinist Edwin Huizinga<\/a> was spotted performing alongside international opera star Ren\u00e9e Fleming at Senator John McCain’s funeral, at the Washington National Cathedral on Saturday.<\/p>\n

According to Fleming\u2019s manager, Dannielle Thomas, McCain who died last\u00a0Saturday at age 81 of brain cancer, had personally requested the opera star to sing the song.<\/p>\n

Huizinga can be seen in the video to the right of Fleming, performing a particularly touching rendition of “Danny Boy”, which brought tears to the eyes of many, including McCain’s wife Cindy McCain, who was visibly moved in the\u00a0front row of the\u00a0Cathedral on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n
