Last week, the popular Classic FM website received wind of a video captured by an audience member at the annual Christmas concert from the Music and Beyond festival in Ottawa.<\/p>\n

The heartwarming performance features mezzo-soprano Wallis Giunta<\/a> and violist Marina Thibeault performing Brahms\u2019 lullaby “Geistliches Wiegenlied” while holding a seven-month-old baby onstage. The video, published on the\u00a0U.K. publisher’s Facebook page on December 29, has since received over one million views and climbing.<\/p>\n

Giunta is heard in the video explaining how violist Marina Thibeault’s baby-boy, Lucien, was backstage and had just woken up from a nap. They thought they’d bring him onstage and sing him the lullaby as an “experiment”.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026This is Lucien. For the next piece, as you may know, this is Brahms\u2019 most beautiful lullaby. \u00a0And it is a song sung by Mary to the angels on the night of Jesus\u2019s birth. She\u2019s asking them to still the wind and quiet the leaves rustling in the trees so the baby can sleep. And Lucien was backstage having a little nap, so we thought maybe he could join us for this song.\u201d<\/p>\n

The baby is see mesmerized as Thibeault and Giunta perform the song. The\u00a0audience did their best to applaud as quietly as they could at the end, while the baby took the whole experience in.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was such a special part of the concert,\u201d said Music and Beyond\u2019s director Julian Armour in a press release statement. \u201cYoung Lucien was calm and attentive, watching his mother and occasionally looking out at the audience. It\u2019s an absolutely beautiful performance, too!\u201d<\/p>\n

In a message from Marina Thibeault on the Facebook\u00a0post she wrote,\u00a0“Lucien wants to thank you all for your heartfelt comments! Happy holidays to everyone!\u00a0 ? ?? ??”<\/p>\n

At the time of publishing this post, the video has received over 1,105,600 views, 22 thousand likes, and nearly 12 thousand shares on Facebook from users all around the world.<\/p>\n
