(Photo courtesy National Arts Centre)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Montreal Police are appealing to the public for information on the whereabouts of missing McGill University music professor Eleanor Stubley, who was last seen Monday, August 7th in the St. Henri neighbourhood near Notre Dame St. W. and St. Philippe St. at 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>A resident of Montreal\u2019s Westmount neighbourhood, Stubley suffers from multiple sclerosis and uses a wheelchair or crutches to get around. Stubley needs medication, and it is believed she did not bring it with her when she left.<\/p>\n<p>The 57-year-old Brampton, Ontario native is a full professor and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies at the Schulich School of Music. Stubley had recently started a one-year sabbatical, and thus her disappearance was not immediately noticed by colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>According to St\u00e9phane Lemelin, chair of the department of performance at the Schulich School of Music, students and colleagues are all in shock, and very concerned for her well-being.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe is a beloved colleague and a tremendously accomplished person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a conductor, Stubley has worked with many notable ensembles, including the Massey Singers, Bach Festival Orchestra, and members of the Canadian Opera Company.<\/p>\n<p>Described as \u201cfeisty\u201d by a former student in a comment to her Facebook page, she led the Yellow Door Choir for nearly 17 years (ending 2014), and is currently Artistic Director of Chora Carmina. She was awarded a Diamond Jubilee Medal Citation in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Stubley is Caucasian, 5\u20193 tall, 90 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes.
