The apparatus&#8217;s total range<span data-sheets-value=\"{&quot;1&quot;:2,&quot;2&quot;:&quot;marimba, and acoustic bass. &quot;}\" data-sheets-userformat=\"{&quot;2&quot;:513,&quot;3&quot;:{&quot;1&quot;:0},&quot;12&quot;:0}\">\u00a0stretches three octaves!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This project was initially fueled by the desire to explore the MIDI protocol,&#8221; Lorenzo explained in his project report. &#8220;It was decided that this would be accomplished by building a MIDI device. I also aimed to make something novel that had never been done before.
