Maria (cello), Lucia (piano), and Angella (violin) Ahn make up the Korean-American trio, which specialises in 21st-century classical music.<\/p>\n

Khatia and Gvantsa Buniatishvili<\/h3>\n

Toronto audiences have been treated in recent years to performances by Khatia<\/a><\/span>, but did you know that she also gives duo piano performances with her older sister Gvantsa? Khatia will appear once again this upcoming season at Koerner Hall<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Nadia and Lili Boulanger<\/h3>\n

Pioneers for female composers in early 20th-century Paris, Lili passed away from Crohn’s Disease at age 24. Nadia went on to become a renowned\u00a0composition teacher until her death at age 92.<\/p>\n

Annie and Cissy Zhou<\/h3>\n

Annie represented Canada at the 17th International Chopin Competition<\/a><\/span>. She credits older sister Cissy as being a big influence on her playing, especially as a youngster when she would overhear Cissy practising piano.<\/p>\n

Katia and Marielle Lab\u00e8que<\/h3>\n

The French sisters perform on the world’s most prestigious stages with the who’s who in classical music, and have many collaborations to their credit with the world’s foremost composers. Katia is also an accomplished pianoforte player. The duo will also appear in the upcoming Koerner Hall season<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Michelle and Christina Naughton<\/h3>\n

Well-acquainted with concert halls across America as well as on other continents, the Naughton sisters are based out of New York City, and perform together in duo piano recitals as well as with orchestra.<\/p>\n

Desirae, Deondra, and Melody Brown (of The 5 Browns)<\/h3>\n

Desirae, Deondra, and Melody are the female members of The 5 Browns, a quintet of American pianists trained at Juilliard.<\/p>\n

The Toronto sisters created ClassyAF to bring chamber music to\u00a0bars: Naomi is the series director, while Talisa handles the artistic side and also performs in the series.<\/p>\n
