They pick and choose. The minimum response is 20 answers. A kind of Rorschach personality test, if you will.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Soprano <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlahuhtanen.com\/\">Carla Huhtanen<\/a> is a rare breed of artist who is at equally at home in both traditional and contemporary music. She first launched her career in Italy and France, singing at Teatro La Fenice (Venice) in Gershwin\u2019s Lady, Be Good! and Cherubini\u2019s Anacr\u00e9on in 2000-01. She sang Angelica in H\u00e4ndel\u2019s Orlando and the title role in Purcell\u2019s Fairy Queen in Marseille, also performing in Aix-en-Provence, Tarascon, Toulon, Avignon and Chartres.<\/p>\n<p>Huhtanen performs regularly with Opera Atelier (Susanna, Blonde, Drusilla, Minerva) and Tapestry New Opera (The Shadow, Opera to Go) in Toronto. She was chosen as One of Now! Magazine\u2019s Top Ten Theatre Artists of 2008 and has been nominated for a 2010 Dora Award.<\/p>\n<h3>What are three things that Toronto doesn\u2019t have but should?<\/h3>\n<p>Faster public transit, protected bike lanes\u00a0and privatized liquor stores.<\/p>\n<h3>Name the musical equivalent to junk food.<\/h3>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know&#8230;.<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lordi\">Lordi<\/a>? Like Cheetos: they make you laugh, they make you cry.<\/p>\n<h3>Default drink\/cocktail of choice?<\/h3>\n<p>A left bank Bordeaux or bourbon<\/p>\n<h3>Name your favourite concert hall\/venue anywhere<\/h3>\n<p>Marie Antoinette&#8217;s theatre at Versailles \u2013 it&#8217;s a ghostly place where history is dead and alive all at once.<\/p>\n<h3>Your favourite sound?<\/h3>\n<p>Wildly laughing babies<\/p>\n<h3>Your least favourite sound?<\/h3>\n<p>Sudden, loud noises.<\/p>\n<h3>Your favourite smells?<\/h3>\n<p>Wet rocks, damp cellars, or the sidewalk right before it rains.<\/p>\n<h3>The historical personalities, both good and bad, that fascinate you the most?<\/h3>\n<p>At present, Scriabin and Risto Ryti<\/p>\n<h3>The dumbest thing that you\u2019ve ever done to your hair?<\/h3>\n<p>I once turned my hair a greyish navy blue by trying to colour it myself.<\/p>\n<h3>Your first three record store purchases<\/h3>\n<p>Purple Rain, Touch (Eurythmics) and Arena (Duran Duran)<\/p>\n<h3>If you could board a plane this afternoon, where would it be taking you?<\/h3>\n<p>To SW6, London.<\/p>\n<h3>The three books that you read that made an impact on you in your formative years?<\/h3>\n<p>I&#8217;m still and always forming.
