For a look at the full breadth of what\u2019s available in and around Toronto, check out our curated concert listings here: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/\">Musical Toronto Datebook<\/a><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The big guns are out this week when it comes to Christmas programming, with both the Toronto Symphony Orchestra\u2019s annual large-scale <em>Messiah <\/em>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/tso-messiah\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 18<\/a>) and Tafelmusik\u2019s relatively intimate Baroque version on offer (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/tafelmusik-handels-messiah-6\/2016-12-14\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 14-17<\/a>). If you want to give your vocal cords a workout, a good choice is Tafelmusik\u2019s <em>Sing-Along<\/em> <em>Messiah<\/em> with Herr Handel, a.k.a. Ivars Taurins the rest of the year (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/tafelmusik-sing-along-messiah-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 18<\/a>). Other seasonal offerings include Amadeus Choir (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/amadeus-choir-winter-lullabies\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 17<\/a>), Toronto Masque Theatre (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/toronto-masque-theatre-o-tannenbaum-the-tree-of-life\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 12<\/a>), Orpheus Choir (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/orpheus-choir-welcome-christmas\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 13<\/a>), Jann Arden Christmas with TSO (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/tso-a-jann-arden-christmas\/\">Dec. 13<\/a>), Toronto Choral Society (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/toronto-choral-society-buon-natale\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 14<\/a>), and Toronto Children\u2019s Chorus (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/toronto-childrens-chorus-a-childs-christmas\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 17<\/a>). National Ballet of Canada\u2019s <em>The Nutcracker<\/em> continues (Daily from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/national-ballet-of-canada-the-nutcracker-21\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 13<\/a>). Not too many non-Yuletide shows, but I found two terrific ones \u2014 Ukrainian-Canadian pianist and composer Dmitri Levkovich gives a recital at Heliconian Hall (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/dmitri-levkovich-piano-recital\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 13<\/a>), and the Gryphon Trio playing a program of Sch\u00f6nberg and Brahms at the Jane Mallett Theatre (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/gryphon-trio-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dec. 15<\/a>).<\/p>\n<h3>Monday 12<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Toronto Masque Theatre<\/span> | <em>O Tannenbaum: The Tree of Life<\/em> at The Atrium, 21 Shaftesbury Avenue. 7:30 p.m. $25 SOLD OUT To be put on the waiting list, call 416-410-4561<\/p>\n<p>Seasonal songs and stories, including <em>No Tongue Will Tally<\/em> by Harry Somers and Dr. Claude Bissell for the annual Christmas Gaudy at Massey College.
