The Sony Centre and Attila Glatz Concert Productions presents the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in the first two installments of the beloved Harry Potter Film Collection.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Sony Centre starts a multi-year film concert series featuring the first two installments of the beloved Harry Potter Film Collection. In partnership with CineConcerts and Attila Glatz Concert Productions, the Sony Centre presents <\/span>Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone <\/span><\/i>on June 27th and 28th, 2017 and <\/span>Harry Potter and the<\/span><\/i> Chamber of Secrets<\/span><\/i> on October 12th and 13th, 2017. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra will perform the Oscar-nominated score of John Williams. Justin\u00a0<\/span>Freer<\/span>, the producer of Cineconcerts, will conduct.<\/span><\/p>\n

The beloved score has captured the imagination of millions across the globe. The iconic <\/span>Hedwig\u2019s Theme<\/span><\/i> has shaped a generation of movie-goers and Potter fans. John Williams scored the first three films in the series. Composers Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper, and Alexandre Desplat would go on to score later films in the series. <\/span><\/p>\n

This marks the first time these films are being performed with live musicians since Warner Brothers allowed the film to be screened in live concert. The world premiere was in June in Philadelphia, and the work has gone on to sell out in San Diego, Nashville, and Grand Rapids to name a few. Vancouver audiences were recently host to the production and it lands in Toronto for two performances of each film. <\/span><\/p>\n

Attila Glatz Concert Productions and the Sony Centre recently brought a sold-out run of <\/span>Amadeus<\/span><\/i> to Toronto and will feature <\/span>E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial in Concert <\/span><\/i>December 29th, and 30th at the Sony Centre. Freer is a frequent collaborator with Ludwig Wicki, the conductor who will present the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings in association with TIFF, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir on December 1-3rd, 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n
