It stars Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role. Arguably the greatest of all Bellini creations, this opera demands great voices, especially in the title role, the Mount Everest of soprano roles, on par with Isolde, Brunnhilde and Aida. \u00a0And we\u2019ve got not one but two greats sopranos in Radvanovsky and South African Elza van den Heever. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra is offering both a pop program (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/tso-beethoven-tchaikovsky\/2016-10-08\/\">the Music of ABBA<\/a>) and the heart of the repertoire (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/tso-beethoven-tchaikovsky\/2016-10-08\/\">Beethoven and Tchaikovsky<\/a>) this week. Guest director\/cellist Christophe Coin joins Tafelmusik in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicaltoronto.org\/datebook\/tafelmusik-the-eloquent-cello\/2016-10-06\/\">Haydn, Boccherini and Dittersdorf<\/a>.
