With a voice that has been described as a \u201cpowerful demonstration of musical artistry wed to superb technique\u201d, soprano Stacie Dunlop is an avid performer of contemporary music. A specialist in new music, Stacie has commissioned works from Canadian composers R. Murray Schafer, Harry Freedman, Peter-Anthony Togni, Scott Godin, Tawnie Olson and Aaron Gervais. Recent performances include a cross-Canada tour of Kurt\u00e1g\u2019s Kafka Fragments, Peter Maxwell-Davies\u2019 Miss Donnithorne\u2019s Maggot, and premieres of new works by Norbert Palej, Laurie Radford and\u00a0Adam Scime<\/span><\/a>\u00a0with Toronto\u2019s New Music Concerts and The Hands of Orlac by Scott Good with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.<\/p>\n

Future engagements include projects with Mexican\/Polish composers in Poland in May 2016, her debut singing the Mad Handel Arias with Aradia Ensemble<\/a> and a concert with The Array Ensemble<\/a> in June 2016.<\/p>\n

A good transit system; more affordable chamber music performance spaces with great acoustics that fit a capacity of 250; a subsidized program for transit and concerts\/museums\/galleries for artists.<\/p>\n

The first three things that you do every morning?<\/h3>\n

Feed the cats, make a smoothie, take a pee.<\/p>\n

Default drink\/cocktail of choice?<\/h3>\n

Bourbon, straight up\u2026preferably Blanton\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Name your favourite concert hall\/venue in Toronto<\/h3>\n

Massey Hall.<\/p>\n

My grandmother and my voice teachers\u2026 all of the female voice teachers I had\/or still have.<\/p>\n
