Announced yesterday, the HMV location at 50 Bloor St. will be shutting its doors for good.<\/p>\n<p>The location is part of the Holt Renfrew Centre on the Mink Mile and is a notoriously high rent location, especially for a retailer selling relatively\u00a0low-priced CDs. The HMV has been at the location since 1997 and will be closing at the end of March 2016. It is not yet clear what will replace the store.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes on the heels of the closure of HMV&#8217;s Queen West store, and the closing of both Toronto locations of Sunrise Records.<\/p>\n<p>This closure\u00a0leaves only two remaining HMV stores in the city: \u00a0Eaton Centre and Yonge Street.<\/p>\n<p>For classical music, jazz and opera record stores in Toronto, there remains only one: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/grigorian.com\/webstore\/main.php\" target=\"_blank\">L&#8217;Atelier Grigorian<\/a> on 70 Yorkville Ave. The Oakville location of L&#8217;Atelier Grigorian closed in 2014, and the London location closed\u00a0in 2011.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>#LUDWIGVAN<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Want more updates on Toronto-centric classical music news and review\u00a0before anyone else finds out?
